Magento kan köras på Apache (1.3.x, 2.0.x, 2.2.x) under Linux (x86, x86-64). Vidare krävs det att PHP (5.2.0+) med vissa tillhörande moduler finns installerade. MySQL (4.1.20+, InnoDB) är den databashanterare som stödjs för närvarande. Webbservern bör stödja cronjobb och .htaccess-filer.
